Annual Report

                             Our institute was started in the year 1980 with a certificate course in Radio & TV and Library Science and in the year 1987, it was converted as a full-fledged polytechnic.  At present, we are running six diploma courses with an intake of 540 and a total strength of about 1550.   We feel proud to share that our institute has been awarded four times as a Best Polytechnic of Northern India.  We are the only recipient of Sardar Ajmer Singh Sarao Trophy as a Best Polytechnic of Haryana awarded by the Directorate of Technical Education, Haryana.  We have also been awarded Utkristh Sansthan Vishvakarma award by AICTE, New Delhi.

This year was of great achievements for our institute.  Our students have performed outstandingly in the academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.  This has been made possible only due to dedication and hard work of the students and staff members.

This year, till date about 200 students have been placed in the companies of repute like ISGEC, Coca Cola, Century Paper Mills, Quantum Paper Mills, Mesto, Daikin Air Conditioner, WIPRO, Shreyans Paper Mills, Aditya Birla and many others.  We have also got confirmation from Maruti, Centum Electronics, ITC – Bhadrachalam and many others for the campus placement in the next two months.  Even IPPTA (Indian Pulp & Paper Technical Association) is helping our institute for improving the skill of the students to make them industry ready.  They have deputed Dr. Anil Naithani from Dehradun having more than 35 years of industry experience to visit our institute every week to conduct classes of 2^nd & 3^rd year students of Chemical Engg. (Pulp & Paper Tech.) for improving their practical skills. Above all, they have also arranged a job fair for our Chemical Engg. students in Hotel Radisson RED, Mohali.                         

                   In academics, our students performed excellently and 36 students got first three State Board positions.

In sports activities, our students have performed excellently at Inter-polytechnic Sports Meet and got: -

• Bronze Medal in Inter-polytechnic Basketball Tournament held at Chhotu Ram Polytechnic, Rohtak.
• Bronze Medal in Inter-polytechnic Volleyball Tournament held at Govt.Polytechnic, Jhajjar.
• Bronze Medal in Inter-polytechnic Badminton Tournament held at Govt.Polytechnic, Adampur.
• In addition to above, our students got 09 Medals (i.e. 03 Gold, 04 Silver and 02 Bronze) at Inter-polytechnic Athletic Meet held at Govt.Polytechnic, Jhajjar.
• Our girls were honoured with Trophy of 2^nd Best Athletic Team, Overall Best Relay Race team and Miss Mehak was honoured as a 2^nd Best Athlete with a Cash Prize of Rs.15,000/- and a memento.

At College level 34^th Annual Athletic Meet held on 6^th & 7^th February, 2025, Mr. Nazzim and Ms.Pooja were declared as Best Athletes among the Boys and Girls category respectively.

NCC cadet Ms.Pooja has won Gold Medal in NCC OT competition held at Tejli Stadium.

In cultural activities, our students performed excellently in District Youth Festival held at DAV Girls College and won: -

• 1^st Prize in AI-based project.
• 2^nd position in Robotics based project.
• 2^nd & 3^rd positions in Photography event.
• 2^nd position in Group Folk Dance.
• 3^rd position in Solo Folk Dance
• First, second & third prize winners were awarded trophy with cash awards of Rs.2100/-, Rs.1500/- & Rs.1100/- each.
• 31^st Blood Donation Mela was held on 4^th September, 2024 and as many as 315 donors donated the blood on this occasion.
• The institute also conducted different activities throughout the year like Women’s Day Celebrations, Tree Plantation, Tiranga Rally, Independence Day, Republic Day, Air show at Air Force Station-Sarsawa, Constitution Day, Engineers’ Day, NSS Camps, Industrial visits of different departments, exposure visits to IIT, Delhi by faculty from different departments, etc.

In addition to above achievements & awards: -

• Our institute alongwith Sh.Sunil Panjeta & Sh. Amandeep Singh were honoured by AIIMS, New Delhi on 1^st October, 2024 for our valuable contribution & support towards Voluntary Blood Donation.
• Vidhi Grover, Lecturer in Chemistry was awarded Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam International Excellent Award-2024 for her contribution in research activities.
• Sh. Mandeep Singh, NCC Incharge was given commendation letter for his exceptional contribution and sustained hard work in various NCC activities.                                     
• Richa Kharbanda, NSS Coordinator was honoured with an appreciation certificate for her outstanding dedication & commitment to NSS activities by Hon’ble Sh.Ranbir Gangwas, Minister Public Health Department on Republic Day at Tejli Stadium.

About 440 students have been awarded with Post Matric SC Scholarships, BC Scholarships, Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, Naveen Jindal Scholarship and Fees Concession at the College level.

74 Girls students have been awarded AICTE Pragati Scholarship of Rs.50,000/- per annum each, three Specially-abled students have also been awarded AICTE Saksham Scholarship of Rs.50,000/- per annum each and one orphan girl has been awarded Rs. 50,000/- p.a. under AICTE ‘Swanath Scholarship’.

In addition to above, Management is also doing lots of social works awarding fees concession to needy students, students safety policy of Rs.2.50 lakh for each student, Public Liability Policy of Rs.2.50 crores, distribution of ration to low-paid employees five times in a year.

This year, the institute spent about Rs.20 lakh on machinery & equipments, Rs. 28 lakh on repair & maintenance work, 21 lakh on fire hydrant.
